Someone said to me today “you seem traumatized.” I am. Along with my friends, associates and even people I never met, I was surveilled for years by the city of Memphis. Our movements were sent to major corporations in the city. Our locations were listed in official documents.
Our phones and social media were compromised. All because we dared to organize for justice. We never showed up armed. We never had zip ties to take people hostage. And yet, this entire operation in DC was allowed to happen and folks acted surprised.
Why are we dangerous and white supremacist terrorists are not? I know the answer. Doesn’t make it right. I need to write these things down, but I had to share this tonight.
