1. No unity without accountability. "Moving on" the bill of goods sold repeatedly in U.S. to white folks who don't want the discomfort of holding fellow white folks accountable for their actions. It's OK to make people who support a man like Trump and insurrection uncomfortable.
2. It is necessary. People who helped with insurrection, or spread lies about voter fraud, need to step down from public office and be ostracized in every way. You can't try to destroy democracy, resulting in a deadly insurrection, and think all is then well and carry on.
3. Anyone who did this, not to mention went along with Trump's denial and weaponization of safety needs around COVID-19 leading to so many deaths, long-term lost jobs and business destruction, must be held accountable as well. There are no passes for this level of horrific human.
4. Plus, anyone who tried to disenfranchise Black voters because they rejected their bigot idol are no better than the Kluckers and Citizens Council racists of many of our childhoods. They are pure trash for making it OK to be the kind of open racists of our childhoods.
5. And their actions led to death and destruction inside the U.S. capitol by using their leadership roles to egg on people willing to climb Capitol walls and do their bidding just like the KKK henchman did for powerful racists in the past. It's the same sick game.
6. Not to mention, all of these people--from elected leaders on down--collectively killed five people, including a Capitol police officer and veteran, and literally or figuratively smeared shit on the walls of the U.S. Capitol and, thus, our democracy. Every conspirator is guilty
