I’ve never considered myself a Marxist. I see Marx’s Material Concept of History too narrow to vire the world’s organization and his conclusion, a proletariat revolution resulting in a stateless classless communist society, lacks basic understanding that human instinct.
Marxism and individual freedoms are incompatible. For a communist society to operate, total uniformity is necessary. Marx clearly was a brilliant anthropologist, but a lousy economist. Abolishing private property and centralized economy? Maybe in 1860 that sounded good.
I’ve got my own ideas of what an ideal societal structure might look like, but the conclusion I’ve come to is that all government is bad. From capitalism to communism, and everything in between, there is no system that doesn’t exist to oppress; It needs to to survive.
