Q for white people: given the premise that right wing thinking can be described “opposed to challenging fixed beliefs and existing hierarchies” as exhibited in this former TX GOP platform plank, what do you think makes some white people cling to this and not others?
My question is not “how are the people who believe this flawed?”
It is “what is the difference in the experiences of the white people who end up clinging to this and those who do not?”
I understand it’s complex. I understand that some white people born and raised in Brooklyn and some white people born and raised in TX will fall on both sides of this. I also understand that there is *some* geographical correlation. 1/
I also understand there is some religious correlation, though cause and effect can go either way on that I think.
I also understand there is some education correlation, but also limited.

I know a simple answer doesn’t exist.

I’m looking for discussion.
I guess I’m looking for a discussion of developmental differences.
