Great to see guidance about cardiac symptoms including myocarditis when returning to physical activity for patients post #COVID19 as have been hearing lots of questions about this.
However IMHO there are some areas that are not so great in this guidance and should be updated 1/7 https://twitter.com/Azeem_Majeed/status/1347800915043082242
No mention of screening for post viral fatigue. While not every patient recovering from #COVID19 will develop these problems, it is vital to identify those with post viral complications, because their management will differ from a typical rehabilitative approach. #CovidRehab 2/7
Before introducing a programme of activity for people with ongoing symptoms after #COVID19 it is crucial to include an in-depth subjective assessment to screen for key signs that they have/are developing #PVFS , particularly looking for signs of Post Exertional Malaise #PEM 3/7
Post-Exertional Malaise is exacerbation of symptoms after physical, mental, emotional, cognitive exertion)
Physical activity/exercise causes an increase in PEM

As we are still learning about #LongCovid it makes sense to learn from other conditions, especially with the close links between symptoms of ME and those of #LongCovid @MEAssociation have produced a useful document pulling together information on both https://meassociation.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/Post-Covid-Fatigue-Syndrome-and-MECFS-September-2020.pdf 5/7
From people like @LongCovidPhysio we're hearing positive accounts of people who are adopting #StopRestPace to manage their #LongCovid symptoms . There's more info on the @PhysiosForME website as well as signposting to other resources https://www.physiosforme.com/pvfs-management . 6/7
I would therefore propose your article should be updated to include screening for people exhibiting #PEM & to include appropriate advice relating to physical activity for this cohort with #LongCovid. @Azeem_Majeed
