Let’s have a discussion. I’ve always been fascinated by the relationship between heroes/villains and subjective reality. Bear with me as I share my stream of consciousness.

Do villains know they are villains? 1/
Or do they truly believe they are heroes in their reality? Over the last 4 years, in my reality, I’ve always believed I was resisting a Trvmp’s dangerous regime. Over the last 4 years, in their reality, Trvmp supporters believed they were resisting a dangerous regime. 2/
Other than the bad actors that know they are pushing false narratives, many Trvmp supporters believe in their cause just as strongly as I do in ours. How do we reconcile this?

On our side, in 2016, we pursued & found evidence of Russian meddling in our election through 3/
social media manipulation, but if we believed in widespread voter fraud as they do, what would we have done? Would we have gone beyond the marching that we did and have instead stormed the Capitol?

We can say their belief is unreasonable, but it won’t solve our problem. 4/
Extremist Trvmp supporters will always be a threat until our respective realities have at least some overlap. How are we going to achieve that goal? How are we going to force those that will lie, cheat, & steal to maintain power to reform if there’s no benefit to them? 5/
I keep coming back to truth in media. I feel if media is not allowed to spread propaganda on either side, we can align our realities better. There must be consequences for politicians that spread disinformation.

This are questions and ponderings that keep me up at night. I’d appreciate your thoughts. 🙏 /7
