Lessons learned from my recent growth on Twitter🧑‍🏫

The last two weeks have been quite successful for me on Twitter growing from 2000 followers to 5300.

I managed to create 4 tweets with more than 100K and one with more than 200K impressions.

Let me tell you what I learned 👇
Write in series 📝

I need structure to consistently create good content... I choose topic I can write a lot about and write a series of tweets on it.

I'm currently doing the "Daily positive tweet" and the "Machine learning interview questions" series. https://twitter.com/haltakov/status/1346129260025577472
Make the tweets about you 👉

I started framing my tweets not about what I did, but how I can help you.

I started writing the tweet below like this: "I plan to tweet about the following topics in 2021...". Then I turned it about how I plan to help you. https://twitter.com/haltakov/status/1344674675599712256
Engage with people 🗣️

I got some of the ideas for my best tweets by chatting with other people on Twitter and understand what they want to know.

This Tweet started with somebody asking about ML trends for 2021 (sorry, I don't remember who it was...🤦‍♂️). https://twitter.com/haltakov/status/1343295004228296705
Prioritize quality over consistency 🪙

I was obsessed with posting two tweets every day in order to be consistent. Often one or even both tweets were rubbish and I knew it. I thought consistency is more important, but it was a mistake...

Now I only write if I have a good idea.
Attention to details ‼️

I started paying more attention how I write my tweets. I try to make them visually pleasing with nice spacing, bullet points and emojis that enhance the message.

I think this one is a good example: https://twitter.com/haltakov/status/1345766872164098048
Schedule tweets 🕑

When I write tweets, I try to sit down, get in the flow and write a lot. I then schedule the tweets over the next days to spread out the information and have time for other things.

I'm an early user of @tweetastic_app for scheduling and I highly recommend it!
What helped me most with creating my new Twitter strategy was @svpino's course "Playing for Engagement".

It helped me realize some of mistakes and correct them. My recent growth can be attributed to this course to a great extent!
