So leaving aside the merits of the decision to ban the outgoing President from #twitter or #Parler from the App Store+ Google Play. January 6th revealed where power lay. Congress wasn't defended by pro-constitution or Biden mobs. It was rescued by officials who wanted rid of DJT
Officials at the DOD, elements of corporate America, the police all decided that they didn't want Donald Trump as President for another term. Had they wished for him to prevail or anyone in his position to do so, what precisely would have happened?
In effect unelected officials have become arbiters of whether a system which is too weak/divided/demoralized to defend itself will survive or not. A system which NEEDS them to ban platforms and people because the system is too weak to survive the challenge on its own
Such a system can't begin to seriously challenge the power through regulation, much less establish authority over those institutions. Can a Biden Adminstration move against Apple and Google if it means allowing #Parler back up? What about police reform?
