foreshadowing/symbolism in the promised neverland s2 OP and ED

disclaimer: personal speculation and MAJOR manga spoilers
emma's sacrifice:

very briefly in the first flower field, emma is pictured behind the blossoms. if you look closely, she does not have her neck number--the number is always visible, so this was likely not a mistake, and instead an allusion to her losing it from the new promise
mirroring flower fields:

there are two flower fields shown that proceed to overlap a demon and human hand: a field of bright blossoms, and a field of vida flowers. one for each side

the crossing of the hands may represent the severance between the human/demon world
callback to clocks:

a recurring theme in tpn is "the loss of time" or the limited time the children have (ie: their lifetimes, the 2 year limit to return to gf).

s1 relied heavily on this, showing clocks frequently and even choosing camera angles on the POV of a swaying clock
plated rabbits:

self explanatory--the rabbits represent the cattle children, but the choice of rabbits is still symbolic. hurt rabbits are a common allusion to ruined innocence

the farm children are also compared to rabbits by leuvis, as an insult, to call them meek and easy
emma's desperation, butterflies:

shirai has represented souls as butterflies in their work. emma is shown, alone, in the vida field, reaching desperately for butterflies she cannot reach

children in shipment clothing fade out behind her, likely the lives she couldn't save
norman's cameos:

norman is not revealed to be alive, but he is briefly shown. he is there for a split second with a vida plunged into him. in the ED, he is shown on the wall of gracefield, with the sky reflecting the blue-pink of his eyes
demon degeneration:

a demon is shown having its mask smashed open. underneath it, it has the appearance of the feral type

mujika is shown immediately after with her 'cursed blood' in her hands--a blatant foreshadow of how demons function and her significance
the fate of those left behind:

phil is pictured in a field with his new mother overlooking him, and his siblings alongside him

isabella is pictured in the garb of a grandmother (instead of her white nightgown) behind prison bars
THAT guy:

peter ratri makes an appearance immediately after the shot of isabella, flanked by moms and demons to symbolize his power over the farm system.

it also mirrors chapter 162's color page
the promise/emma in chains:

the demon and human handshake foreshadows the promise itself

emma behind chainlinks is vague--it could show many things: her general plight, her willpower to forge the next promise, her forever being caged by the new promise, etc
timeskip designs:

the gracefield escapees are shown after the 2-year jump during the cuvitidala arc. thoma and lanni have their hair up, anna/gilda/don/nat have grown their hair, emma has her GP barrettes and braid, etc
negative space:

there are spaces where it feels something is "missing". the OP will likely change to include characters as they are introduced

the space beside emma and ray could be for norman OR yuugo--norman due to the timeframe, yuugo due to a similar manga panel
religious symbolism:

mujika's shadow reflects a cross so well that many have pointed it out. due to her role as a savior, her religion, and use of her blood, she is a textbook christ figure, and the closing alludes to it
post canon / overgrown farms:

the wall that mujika and sonju are walking along in the above panel is also very likely gracefield's. the cliff is shown, and the forest is shown. it is old and abandoned at the time of the shot

there are also other vague, abandoned structures
other farms:

the bare legs of children are shown in a metallic room. their stance is odd. toe-walking is often outgrown after the age of 2

the children are certainly older than that, so it seems they don't walk often. this could be a mass production farm, or lambda itself
alex mikhaylov's book:

another callback to the book written by the man that adopted emma and the children at the end of the manga. season 1 also showcased it
aaannd finally, night / day:

a sequence in the ED fades from the night sky into the daylight, which is a possible reference to the seven walls and the 'place of night and day', where the one/demon god resides
so.. that's all i personally noticed! there is very heavy final arc symbolism... odd that there's nothing for goldy pond, and it instead goes right into the later segments.

we'll have to wait and see :')
