While the USA keeps arguing about section 230, the EU just launched the DSA. This creates binding content take-down liabilities for big platforms. It’s reasonable to suggest that the EU is effectively repealing section 230 itself, right now. US companies will have to take the DSA into account, just as they have to take GDPR into account.

(No-one America paid any attention to GDPR until they suddenly realised how big the fines were. I suspect the same is going to happen with the DSA and the DMA)

To put this slightly more strongly - Americans spend a lot of time talking about ‘the constitution’ and ‘the government’ without thinking that 90% of Internet users are outside the USA in countries that have their own constitutions and don’t care, at all, what the US one says
