For folks that have been listening to me whine about the lack of internet over the past year, I have an update! The Blackfeet Tribe established a telecom company and bought the existing infrastructure. They are going to be upgrading all old copper phone lines to fiber.

This is huge. Not only does it mean my rural rez house may have access to high speed internet that isn't data limited, but our telecom services will be owned by a tribal non-profit entity.

"Upgrades will be completed in 10 years" so who knows when my street will fit into the priority list lol
That said, I can look forward to a future with better quality live streaming, fast uploads, more digital gigs, and netflix on the TV instead of the phone hahaha

We had 95 mph winds the other night that took out the signal booster which killed my internet. My partner climbed on the roof and remounted it at night because I had an important interview the next morning. Imagine NOT having to do that
