There are 1000s of mini-Trumps on Twitter, some even running &/or pursuing dangerous dictatorships. Protecting freedom and human life should matter equally everywhere - @Twitter should learn from the harm its 4 years of inaction on Trump caused & act against ALL Trumps out there
De-platforming individuals is a Band-Aid on a bullet wound. But the key problem is social media platforms have too much power. They need to be regulated by democracies. They need more effective policies against violence and hate speech. 2/3
Social media platforms need to be pushed to be more transparent. They must detox their algorithms, which turbo-boost disinformation, and they must correct the record. These policies should apply equally around the world, to protect the most vulnerable, and not just in the US.
