With exception of the most virulent, open white supremacists who don’t hesitate to make it clear that they believe in preserving white power, the defenders of whiteness will always engage in disingenuous arguments. We shouldn’t even engage them according to their false framing 1/

For ex. they will make bogus arguments about free speech, the constitution, etc. that they know are disingenuous & not representative of the real issue. This is a major part of how white power has always operated, w/ ppl feeling entitled to claim reality is whatever they say 2/

The whole performance around stolen elections is another example. It’s not that ppl genuinely believe election was stolen as much as it is that whiteness entitles ppl to feel they can declare whatever they want to be true w/ the expectation that society bend to accommodate it 3/3

It’s the same phenomenon as when white people knowingly make false criminal accusations against Black ppl with the expectation that the legal system will accommodate their lie from police to the court.
