I’m heading into downtown to keep an eye on today’s fash rally in front of the federal courthouse. @jwcroxton will be there too.

I won’t be live tweeting, but I’ll report back in this thread here if anything goes down.
Quick update: lots of Q flags and banners, plus some handmade signs that call for the arrest of Kate Brown and the world’s most obnoxious Tony Keith song.
Approximately 25 Proud Boys–actual Proud Boys, in black and yellow–just rolled up to the courthouse.
A bit of a scuffle between the Proud Boys and a passing car. Water and cans were thrown.
After a fight between some Proud Boys and some anti fascists, EPD has swept declared this a riot and unlawful assembly.
Riot cops are lining up on 8th and Mill. Crowd has yet to disperse.
Proud Boys are making an organized retreat into downtown Eugene.
Well EPD has stopped announcing this is a riot/unlawful assembly, and it looks like everything is gonna continue as planned?
EPD officer has just said that this is no longer a riot.
CW: violence

Here’s a clipped version of the fight from earlier. Several members of the fash side used flag poles as weapons. One person was injured and treated by paramedics on scene.
There’s a man claiming to be Cherokee disputing the idea that this is stolen land.

Nearby, a woman and a pair of proud boys are arguing whether COVID-19 is a threat to people’s health.

Man on the mic is telling people to “go back to their countries” if they don’t like the US.
Aaaaaaaand guy on the mic warned about “a coming war” and ended things with a “fuck Antifa and fuck BLM.”
I’m getting actively threatened, too https://twitter.com/jwcroxton/status/1348015073940291587
As you can see here, THE COPS LEFT
I’m getting outta here, I got a bad feeling about the targeted harassment I’m receiving and we’re clearly outnumbered.

Be safe out there eugene, it’s really nasty.
I am safely out of downtown Eugene.

Thanks for reading. If you live or work in downtown, use extreme caution. The Proud Boys left the area but it’s easy to imagine that they’re still around looking for opportunities to brawl.
Looking through videos from today, I noticed that an EPD officer returned Richard Elce’s flagpole to him shortly after it was used as a weapon against multiple people.
