American education teaches kids that it's a moral failing not to know, to be ignorant. This is in stark contrast to other educational traditions which teach unknowing as a virtue, that prize students who can articulate the limits of their knowledge.
Neoliberal Boomers fetishized precocity in millennials. That's how we ended up with Matt Ygelsias, Mark Zuckerberg, etc. They wanted instant payoff from precocious-seeming 18-year-olds and so discounted the entire idea that maybe it actually takes time to build knowledge.
If you teach a kid how to think for themselves, really think for themselves, not regurgitate theories and ideas from other, more established thinkshitters, then you're teaching a kid how to resist mental domination.

Women were definitely warning about Trump's fascist base before 2016. Women on twitter were pointing and screaming at Milo, Steve Bannon and Breitbart before 2016.
