The problem I have with the banning of Trump is that Twitter did not ban him for anything he actually tweeted. They banned him for something they made up in their corporate imagination that he MIGHT tweet in the future. So they had a bad dream and are now acting on it in reality.
When one goes down this path, it becomes very easy to begin banning people because someone says they think they MIGHT do something. Here is the basic problem. These people that attacked our Capitol are not going to go away when Trump leaves office. And it isn't even about Trump
These people were pissed off LONG before Trump ever appeared on the scene. Trump made them feel heard. These are the same people who have been upset since Ruby Ridge and Waco.
This is NOT going to stop as long as the political parties in Washington DC continue to try to use the federal government to shove their ideology down the throats of the entire country. The federal government needs to get out of the social experimentation business.
We need to stop trying to use the federal government to take the place of the state governments and dictate policy across the nation. We DO NOT HAVE a national government and need to stop trying to make it one.
As long as that continues, this problem is going to worsen. People need to look at their STATE capitals for answers to questions like these and if they don't like it, vote with their feet but we should all be able to find a place in this country where we fit.
Trying to do it from DC just alienates half the citizens of the country and that half changes whenever party control changes. You can fire a state government (by moving), you can't fire the federal government. That leaves one feeling helpless and desperate.
