Ummm....do we have an Alabama problem? I think we have an Alabama problem. Trying to make sense of the Capitol Siege of the 6th, I whiteboarded the day. Highlights in thread suggest we take a hard look at what is happening in Alabama. @ZevShalev @LincolnsBible @gregolear 🧵👇🏻
Firstly, trump [spits on floor] holds a muster event. A central point for his followers to gather. During this muster, Representative Mo Brooks from Alabama is a featured speaker. He whips the crowd into a frenzy. But wasn’t Rep Mo supposed to be in the Capitol? Not a muster?
Secondly, a PAC essentially, Women for America First is chaired by a former trump surrogate, tea party member, and Auburn alumnus Amy Kremer was also there at the pre-insurrection muster. Where is Auburn? Alabama.
While the insurrectionists gathered, inside the Capitol they were about to storm sat a Senator from Alabama ready to object to democratically cast votes. His first act as a Senator. That Senator is Tommy Tuberville. Former head football coach of Auburn. In Alabama.
Also inside the Capitol sat 6 representatives from Alabama ready to object to democratically cast votes. Alabama has 7 representatives. All but 1 (a Democrat), signed on to the sedition. But you know what else has been gnawing at me reading this?
Alabama mail slowed down to a 68% delivery rate during the period of the election. Louis DeJoy, the post master general who may have perjured himself during his House testimony has not provided an answer to slowing of mail. Psst...this is voter disenfranchisement.
To recap, the head of a PAC đź’°appears alongside a sitting Alabama Representative to muster a crowd of seditious insurrectionists, aided by a football coach in the service of a reality tv host to overthrow our government. Something is rotten in the state of Alabama.
