Not sure if the white supremacist coup folk realize this, but federal trials are delayed and backlogged 9 months due to the pandemic. They may not get a trial for a year.
Some may bond out, but my guess is the federal judges in DC may deny bond for the serious cases.

Pre-trial detention is ugly. You have very little ability to defend yourself because of the constraints of jail and separation from family. Also, due to the pandemic, in person visits are heavily restricted. Also, jails are hot beds of COVID with abysmal medical care.
Another brutal aspect of being accused of a crime far away from your home is that you are far from family and support systems.
The American In-Justice system as you may learn is brutal. And often destroys families.

As with many, the hell-scape that is pre-trial detention may lead them to take a plea deal or become a snitch against others.
Maybe you get leniency because your are white or a cop, but this is what I see happened to our BIPOC community.
