In addition to the influence of larger national RW platforms in inciting extremism, I hope investigators and researchers will also consider the influence of more state/local-based media. Example: WMUZ 103.5, a conservative Christian FM radio station out of Metro Detroit... 1/
Their main programming is a daily show by Bob Dutko, who is also regularly tapped for speaking events at churches, dinners, etc. in Southeast MI. 2/
This is audio of him in September defending Kyle Rittenhouse and militia groups driving into cities for confrontations. 3/
1:39 “We’re going to stand up to these criminals...it’s legal for us to carry a weapon, and we are going to go there, and we are going to protect these cities, and we are going to stand up to the mob, and we’re going to stand up and fight back.” 4/
Audio of Dutko less than a month ago opening a call topic fantasizing about secession following the election. 2:51 - "would you consider joining such a coalition...because you know what, it would involve war, it would involve military battle..." 5/
(On a tangent, wonder where some of these callers may have been on January 6th...
)

Monday, January 4th - Dutko on the Proud Boys - Totally not defending them, just going to repeat their talking points and say the accusations against them are media smears!
(Later that afternoon, the leader mentioned here was arrested...)
(Later that afternoon, the leader mentioned here was arrested...)
For someone who claims to spend so much time researching, his talking points are nearly identical to the subject when it came up back in April:
As much as a lot of shows like this are now taking a wide-eyed "who, me?!" approach post-Jan 6th, it's hard not to draw a connection with their rhetoric leading up to it.
