I wish this totally sincere belief that you shouldn’t punish people who commit crimes because it will only make them commit worse crimes applied to the members of my family who went to prison for marijuana.

Imagine spending years stoking an insurrection and then saying if you punish those who got us here, it’ll only make their supporters more mad.
