On the 5th October 2020 Everton had finally announced they had managed to complete the signing of Ben Godfrey for an initial £25 million pounds.
I am going to talk about why Carlo Ancelotti puts so much faith into the young defender and that fans should not sleep on him

Versatility:
A huge factor into why Carlo Ancelotti wanted Ben Godfrey at Everton was his ability to play in multiple positions... I have counted and listed the positions he has been told to play so far in the 20/21 season:
RB- x2
CB- x2
LB- x7
Showing how versatile he is

Pace:
It should be well known how fast Ben Godfrey is by now.
His pace is a huge part of his game and it allows Godfrey too play out from the back and carry the ball far up the pitch to allow Everton to beat a press and create chances in the final third.

Passing ability:
An underrated part of Ben Godfrey’s game is his range of passing and his ability to know when to play the right pass for the midfielders or attackers. Let’s see his passing competition this season:
286/350 passes (82% completion)
Also completed 35/57 long pass

Overall review:
I think that Ben Godfrey has what it takes too reach the highest level in football with the potential he has. Godfrey has every characteristic needed for the modern day Centre-back.
There are similarities in his game that matches Rio Ferdinand.
Very talented
