General rule of thumb is that politics is off the table in polite discussion. But things like gender inequality and racism aren’t “politics.” They’re universal wrongs which have to be addressed on a direct level. To the teacher’s face. Like the girls in this class did.
Calling gender inequality “politics” was this teacher’s get-out-of-dumb-free card. It can’t happen. He’s in a place of authority and pushing a false narrative. It wasn’t politics until he knew he’d been bested.
