Parties. 2 official, 2 ideological.
Democrats, Republicans, Progressives(far left), & Q/MAGA (far right).
I always vote Prog in the Primaries and when they inevitably lose, I end up voting Dem.
This thread focuses on the Progs.

The foot. They have the best ideas in the nation.
M4A: Fantastic idea, the rest of the world does it, why not us?
Defund Police: good idea, terrible messaging(Reform the police sounds better)
UBI: Good in theory, but easily exploited.

Is simply, They’re Dicks.
I’ve found that any disagreement is met with tirades. In their eyes Dems and Reps are exactly the same and everyone who’s not them is a racist oligarch.
I’ve had more civil discourse with MAGA than I have with some Progs.

But one difficulty they need to overcome.
The other is naivety.
I’m often told”Politics isn’t a game!”
And that’s why they lose.
To politicians,politics is a game.
We are the pieces, the bank has all the money, and the winner is the one who gets the most votes(usually).

Refuse to acknowledge or play the game, they can never win.

In politics They refuse to play the game out of some ideological purity that makes them think they’re above the game.
They aren’t.

Lose. Which is a shame.
They also lack any significant leadership.
A party needs a leader, a figurehead to convey the message.
They had Bernie, but he’s done.
Too old for Pres and too needed in the Senate.
I thought they’d be able to rally behind Warren or AOC but neither /9

Of them passes the Prog purity test.
To them,Warren is a centrist and AOC is a sellout.
The Yang Gang is out there but I’m not sure if he passes the test to lead them all.They’re stuck on Bernie.

The reason Dems continue beating them in the primaries has a lot to do with messaging.
Dems are weak, with mediocre policy, but they play nice with others.
Yes, they’re insincere, but they have a base and work to grow it.
This is the Progs biggest failure.
They don’t try to /11

Reach out to others.
They should be playing nice and poaching Dem voters. But if you aren’t already a Prog they just yell at you.
It wouldn’t be hard for them to infiltrate and take over the Democrats if they’d stop calling Dems names and pushing them away at every turn. /12

Republicans, who have the absolute worst policies, have more success expanding their base and winning hearts and minds than Progs.
That should be a wake up call but it’s not.
Progs seem happy alone in their bubble but are confused as to why they don’t win. As someone who’d /13

Love to see a nation where progressive policies are the mainstream, it’s infinitely frustrating to see the best ideas in the nation in the hands of belligerent naive kids who refuse to play with others.
Progs have some utopian ideas.
They’d lead us to a better world.

No one passes their purity tests.
People who are on the fence with them and could be convinced are pushed away because they aren’t 100% Prog out of the gate.
Progs frustrate me to no end because they’re politically incompetent to the point of suicidal.

But they’re incoherence and belligerence cripples them every damn time.
And if you try to point any of this out they just call you a racist centrist and shout you down.
I guess I’ll keep voting Blue until progs figure out how to play the game.
