@sidlowe, who watches the games as a journalist in empty stadiums, made some really interesting points about Barça on a recent episode of
@tsf_podcast. He noticed some things this year that he never noticed before because there's always a crowd making noise: [A Thread]

Ronald Araujo is the one Barça player who talks/uses his voice the most on the pitch, either to communicate with teammates or direct the positioning of those in front of him.
Ter Stegen and Lenglet come in at 2nd and 3rd in terms of how loud they are on the pitch & frequency of communication.

The players who are close to their teammate in possession always demand a pass from them and tell them where to put the ball. For example, if Frenkie has the ball, Alba will be constantly asking for a pass and vice versa.
However, as Sid Lowe notes this year, the entire team goes silent whenever Messi has the ball. He attributes it to one of two things:

The players have complete trust in Messi and understand that he doesn't need directions or nudging as to where to put the ball. He will go for the best option anyway or,

They're so in awe of him that they're almost afraid to tell someone of that stature, who is 10x better than them, where to put the ball [almost like that kid asking Kaka for a cutback in the charity game he played recently].
