Video game industry folks!!! I was talking to some fellow 2020 graduates about cover letters and was wondering if we can get a thread going with your best advice? Any pro tips for people writing and applying for the first time? Shares appreciated! ❤️
I feel like we see a lot of threads with positions/openings going around right now but it came to my attention that a lot of graduates haven’t been taught a thing on how to sell themselves properly so would LOVE to hear from some people in the industry. Thanks!
My advice would be to not be afraid to personalise your cover letter and show your personality! This is your opportunity to show who YOU are and why you stand out from others who may have the same/more experience. Make sure not to reiterate—elaborate on your CV, not repeat!
Also, the pro tip of all pro tips that for some reason no one ever tells you: send applications in PDF form, NOT word document files!!!
