So one of the most interesting topics of debate on FT is whether Pep is a genius or a fraud . And I feel that there is nothing in between what people do think about this . I will try to list facts and figures (Spending, Honours etc)

Spending at Barcelona(08-12) = €338m
Spending at Bayern Munich(13-16) = €197m
Spending at Manchester City(16-Present)= €917m
Total Spending = €1452m
True a lot of spending indeed .But just in comparison to Jose Mourinho during same period.

Spending at Chelsea(13-15)= €353m
Spending at Man Utd ( 1jul 16-18 dec 18) = €465m
Spending at Spurs (Nov 19-Present)=€138m

Difference in spending is 150 m but No of trophies won is 29 Pep to 13 Mourinho . Only Zidane has done exceptionally well till now in relative honours in very less period to Pep.
These are what people do like to interpret managers on . The most important aspect for me the football style which I dont need to elaborate on . Pep's style with this output to majority managers snooze fest to end with 1 trophy or trophyless season . I know which side I am on .
Another myth : Pep managed Barca with Messi Xavi Iniesta etc . Barca was 3 points off the Uefa cup (Now Europa League) when Pep arrived . Messi was very young , Pep handed the keys to him ,Ronaldinho out,Deco out , Busquets promoted from B team to form the best midfield trio oat.
What followed everyone knows. Best team of all time.
Now UCL expectations :
Maximum UCL won by a manager is 3 by Zidane , amazing achievement . Would love to see how his career grows . Pep, Mourinho , Ancelloti , Sir Alex have all won 2.

But expectation to deliver UCL each season is on Pep and anyways I did rule out spending aspect Also Pep will go for each title there is up for grabs with his teams .Hence more pressure matches, less rest for key players. We have seen managers priortize now which imo is poor.
Each trophy in mid season ( even though called shit by some experts) is a morale booster for the players and pushes them to go for more silverware. Its a symbol of working as a team correctly.
