Smart option to sign for the Defensive Midfield position, a bit of a hybrid no.6 and no.8, which is to suggest that he can be a very effective ball-winning Defensive Midfielder plus having the attributes to play as a box-to-box midfielder. Plus, Soumare is a more physical 
Player than a Caicedo & would be able to adapt quicker to the physicality & the pace of the Premier League. If there is indeed truth to these rumours & if this deal does go through in January, then Manchester United would make one of the smartest signings this season.
