As half-assed as this coup feels, it's been in the works for years. We'll find out there was significant participation by police forces. The main reason it failed(and it will fail) is that they were never able to generate a controlled opposition to wage fake battles in the street
and they put a lot of effort into that over the years. There needs to be an investigation into the f*ckery that's been committed against the American people when this is over and a whole lot of people need to be banned from police work.
There was nothing particularly secret about the coup - it was a collection of horizontally-aligned factions that had been looking for a leader dumb and reckless enough to get behind. Plenty of journalists and documentarians have been profiling the plotters for years and been like
"Hey, these people are plotting a coup," and America does nothing and it advances to the next stage. It's probably a good thing Doug Coe dropped dead in 2017 and that so many of these schemers are old/sick/under legal pressure and couldn't bring their A game for Mister D List.
Still the machinery of the coup will outlive the present attempt. The phony think tanks, the political clubs, the mercenaries, the (retired) intel people from multiple countries mindf*cking the American people using our data to mislead and confuse us to make a buck. The whole...
rotten enterprise goes back to the John Birch society and the various off-shoots of superwealthy nuttery. The more we let them get away with, the more they will push the envelope.
Which is why we can't let it slide. We're pretty much at nut-cutting time when it comes to a whole host of issues that we can no longer kick down the road, first and foremost of them is climate change, which poses an existential threat. The Venn diagram of coup supporters and...
wealthy individuals who will block our attempts to address climate change is a perfect circle. These people need to be taken down several notches until they no longer represent a threat to our republic or our futures.
