The amount of people who don’t understand that Nagy has handled Mitch exactly the way Andy Reid is currently telling him to explains why people think Mitch’s lack of success is on him.
People forgot John Fox didn’t want Mitch either and got fired for it. #bears

Mitch was a one year starter in college in a spread system, at UNC. He didn’t beat a guy who’s not in the league. He was always behind the 8 ball. Good kid. Hard worker. But lack of experience, limited system and misevaluating his ceiling likely meant he’d be what he is. #bears
That is Pace’s fault. Mitch can’t fully control where he was drafted. Pace looked at a QB who struggled in the Sun Bowl and a QB that went to two national championships and hung 800+ yards on Bama’s defense and said one isn’t even worth an interview. #Bears
Pace wanted Mitch to be what Mahomes is. A guy that no one saw coming have a meteoric rise, set your franchise up for 15 years and cement his job as GM for at least as long. The only problem is, the gamble worked for one team that exact way and another, the exact opposite. #bears
With a likely loss tomorrow Pace probably loses his job as GM. I don’t think he leaves the organization. Just my hunch: Phillips retires, Pace moves over to strictly football ops (like Elway just did in Denver) and someone like Borgonzi, Dodds, Kelly or Smith takes over. #bears
It’s not just Mitch that gets him fired or reassigned. It’s the cap situation and terrible contracts. It’s missing on keeping Kwiatkoski over Trevathan who’s younger and not much more expensive (and now better). It’s doubling down on a bad QB with the subsequent moves. #bears
It’s going from Glennon-Trubisky-Foles when you have final say . It’s paying Quinn while Floyd is having a career year. It’s fixing the offensive line with “hot glue” instead of cement. It’s not taking a tackle before the end of the draft ever. #bears
Borgonzi’s name has been floated by Biggs but he’s actually a rock solid candidate. It isn’t just because he’s connected to Nagy. Whether Pace is still around or not, I believe that he and Kelly should be their top 2 options at GM. Smith should be looked at for President. #bears
Nagy deserves more credit than he gets. Sure fans are frustrated. But we’re talking about a coach without a losing season who’s made every adjustment necessary from staff roles, rotations, play-design, run scheme to find what works for THIS team. #bears
If they land an actual dog at QB, Nagy is going to go back to an offense that’s more rooted in the West-Coast style with some Spread and Air Raid concepts blended in. If, somehow, the Bears land Watson , this is an 11 win team as is. Let alone with improvements. #bears
Allen Robinson gets tagged and then extended. That’s it. That’s the tweet. #bears
If Pace is fired completely, I’d expect Pagano gone, Nagy to hire one of Fangio’s or Staley’s assistants and the new GM to start getting younger (and cheaper) on that side of the ball to try to help this offense out in a hurry. #bears
Pagano will be fired either way. I’ve said all season I feel like he leans on man too much and maybe it’s because he’s unsure of how to defend newer looks. Fangio built this team to be a cover 4/6 defense. That’s why Jackson seems “out of position”. #bears
Some of Pagano’s fronts are questionable and as one of my friends said, “they handed the keys to a Ferrari to someone we’re not sure should be driving anymore”. TBF, the offense SUCKING changes the way you call a defense but Pagano doesn’t seem to be aggressive at all #bears
I wanted Quinn to replace Floyd, but these guys get paid millions of dollars to evaluate. His contract was awful and he’s not producing. Fangio likely wouldn’t have signed him because he likes to drop an OLB into coverage so you never know which 4 he’s sending. #bears
Another friend @Johnathan_Wood1 has an excellent thread on what he’d do this offseason to fix all of this but I just wanted to give context for why the “fixing” needs to happen. #bears
