In fact the purge has already started & many conservative & right leaning accounts have been removed. No one is complaining because these accounts have fewer followers but still it is happening. Once the hubbub from Trump dies down these accounts will continue to be expunged
This is big tech shrinking the Overton Window & beginning to dictate public discourse. Opinions that are deemed to be “problematic” or “hateful” will simply be removed. This will mean that topics or issues will simply not be discussed in a meaningful way. Free speech is finished
People will be terrified of losing their accounts & will not dare to voice heterodox or “controversial” opinions. We are already seeing this happen with YouTube & its censoring of accounts that are critical of lockdown & WHO guidelines.
YouTube deleted @talkRADIO channel for platforming scientists & medical experts critical of lockdown. TalkRadio is a mainstream radio station regulated by Ofcom the UK broadcasting regulator. It doesn’t matter, if you question the narrative you will be removed.
The channel was later reinstated after huge public & legal pushback. That happened because they’re a huge corporation, others aren’t so fortunate. Channels on YT are now no longer discussing the efficacy of lockdown as they’re terrified of the repercussions.
This censorship will spread to other areas & topics until the only opinions that will be allowed will be those “On the right side of history”.
