Well, that made me chortle.

On the subject of "chortle"--coined by Charles Dodgson, prolific writer of children's fantasy books and mathematical textbooks--it is an exemplary verb.

So. Lewis Carroll (Dodgson) liked kids a lot, and at school, he regularly defended smaller boys from larger bullies. He went boating with the Liddell children, with another adult present, and he dedicated his works to various young girls.

He also photographed girls...
...in the nude, but then, so did many Victorians.

Nude kid photos were so popular *as expressions of innocence and virtue* that they featured on Victorian Christmas cards.

Dodgson photographed girls with a parent in the room. And some of the photos are about as sexualised...
...as an Anne Geddes baby calendar (anyone else recall those?).

I don't get a sexual vibe, from the ones I've seen (admittedly few).

What's more interesting, is several missing journals, and a scribbled entry that references "Ina"--nickname of Alice's older sister, and her...
...mum, both named Lorina.

I think if your boss has young kids, and you're intriguing with his wife, "I'll take the little ones on an outing," is a plausible excuse for coming over to see "the family."

Also: Dodgson spoke of "child friends" which included women in their...
...20s and 30s. Some of his letters to these women (some married...) have disappeared. But his family kept the child nudes in good order, after his death.

I want to see his naughty letters to married women, and his diary entries about them. Oh, Charles. What did your family...
....do, when they "protected" your reputation by destroying your (probable love) letters to several married or engaged women, yet proudly displayed nude child photograpy.

There's a lesson, here: MORE honesty, not less, is usually the safest call. Reading ten letters in which...
...Dodgson burns eternally for a married cousin (or whomever) and comparing those to child nudes in which the kids are staged like sexless angels, would certainly mitigate some of the effects of those photos.

I digress.

Dodgson gave us a lot, and he was likely ADHD...
...which makes him, to some extent, one of our own.

Maybe I'm too quick to give "one of our own, another ND squad member" the benefit of the doubt.

Maybe I'm clinging too hard to the originator of such fine words as chortle, frumious, burbled.

Either way....
...still chortling over the notion of Trumpers deleting their accounts.

I hope you are, too.

PS I'm not a Dodgson scholar. Everything I've claimed here is freely verifiable, via a cursory Google search.

Second PS: credible evidence of Dodgson as paedo = no chortle usage, ever.
