A short thread on allergies:
There are different types- food, aeroallergens (small bits that can float in the air), medicine...
There's also different reactions- most known is the rashes (also known as urticaria or wheals).
Fun fact: Kibum (suju) is atopic (he has allergies)

For food allergies, there are some food which you can grow out of being allergic to.
BUT
Taking anti allergy meds before eating food you know you're allergic to does NOT mean you won't get an allergy. An allergy reaction differs every exposure you have to that allergen.

So what is an allergen?
It's basically anything that causes the allergy- food, dust mites, animal dander, etc.
You might be allergic to food ingredients, active ingredients, etc. It's really hard to say at the first time...

What allergic reactions do we have?
1. Allergic rhinitis
- it's that persistent sneezing in the morning or late night, makes you sniffle, have itchy nose, clogged nose, and have that phlegm in the throat
(This is over simplified, of course)

2. Allergic conjunctivitis
- very itchy eyes
- don't rub your eyes because you will cause tears in the cornea
3. Atopic dermatitis/ eczema/ "skin allergy"
- causes dry skin, with rashes that look dark, very itchy, can move from one place to another
- worse during cold weather

4. Urticaria/ wheals
- the commonly known rash... the pink ones which look like insect bites
- can be NON- allergic (due to cold,water..)
5. Anaphylaxis
- severe allergic reaction involving 2 or more parts of the body: difficulty breathing, lower blood pressure, diarrhea, rashes

What do you do if you have an allergy?
First, best is to consult your doctor. To better check what causes the allergy and to give the appropriate medicine
Second, don't randomly drink any medicine. You might cause more problems if it's the wrong medicine

Third, if you can't breathe, or feel light headed, or feel like something is wrong, go to the ER.
Lastly... DON'T self-treat. Don't try to challenge yourself with food you are allergic to. It might worsen the allergies...

Additional info (as per @eunhaeplz)
For those with eczema, or those with dry skin...

- Apply lotion/moisturizer after every bath, handwashing (ideally within 15min of bathing)

- If your eczema is really bad, you can wrap it in plastic/kitchen gloves right before you sleep. This will trap the moisture in so it's less dry in the morning!
