EVERY IPL FIFTY OF DAVID WARNER - A THREAD SERIES

(See the thread in my pinned tweet for all fifties)

#3 - 54(44) VS RR, 2011
Both the teams (DD & RR) were playing their 2nd league match in DLF IPL 2011. The toss went in Daredevils' way as they elected to bat first. Batting first, DD were off to a disastrous start in the powerplay. Their top 4 was cleaned very early.
Shaun Tait got the big wicket of Sehwag to start with, and he removed Finch too. Shane Warne spun a magic as he sent both Chand and Ojha to the pavilion in same over. DD were in deep trouble as their scorecard read 36-4. It was all in the hands of the young man to save them.
Despite wickets were losing at one end, Warner stood tall and scored boundaries regularly. He brought up a steady fifty which was his 3rd in IPL career and first in 2011 edition. Warner scored 54 from 44 deliveries with 7 fours and a maximum as DD crossed the 150-run mark.
Important fifties from Warner and Rao helped DD set a target of 152, something to bowl at. However, this target didn't seemed challenging for the Royals. Although Dinda got Paunikar early, Dravid and Botha brought the game back to RR with a decent partnership.
Dravid got out after a well-made 38 and Menaria played a good cameo too. Botha and Taylor successfully finished the game as RR won by 6 wickets with 9 balls to spare.
Warner's fighting effort went in vain once again, but the Aussie batsman got a good start to the 3rd edition of IPL. Hence, Warner's 3rd fifty in IPL ends in a losing cause too.
