Why MF DOOM Was One Of The Greatest Rappers Of All Time

Happy Birthday To MF DOOM 👑
We did a tribute video for MF DOOM for his birthday 👑

Here’s the link:
Rhyme Schemes

The reason that DOOM is regarded so highly amongst hip hop heads is because of the insane amount of technical skill he had. His elite use of rhyme schemes and wordplay were like no other. This video explains it all....
The Persona. The Villain.

After the untimely passing of his brother and group member, Dumile took time to reflect on becoming a solo act and ‘MF DOOM’ was born. He created a whole villainous persona with a mask that was inspired by the comic book character Doctor Doom.
Iconic Mask

The mask was a prop from the film Graffiti and it helped separate him from everyone else. The reason he wore the mask was because he wanted to not be recognized by the public, but rather judged on his ability and his sound. He wanted to do it his way.
Massive Influence

His influence in the rap scene is significant because of how unique he was. Artists like Tyler the Creator, Joey Bada$$, Earl Sweatshirt, Drake and Freddie Gibbs have all gone on record to say they were influenced by his genre-bending music. 🐐 Status.
Madvillainy with Madlib

Madvillainy is deemed as one of the best experimental rap records of the last 20 years. DOOM teamed up with Madlib to create a flawless 22 track album which features some of DOOM’s best rapping and storytelling as seen on songs like the brilliant ‘Curls’.
King of the Underground

DOOM dealt with many label issues at the beginning of his career with his former group KMD. This motivated him to become a popular figure in the underground hip hop scene. His fans respected his art & supported him throughout his triumphant career.
Legacy

To be considered one of the greats, you need the following 3 things: technical ability, influence & a great discography; he has all in abundance. With albums like Doomsday, MM Food, Vaudeville Villain, Madvillainy and Born Like This, he has quite the catalogue to his name
Long Live DOOM

We unfortunately found out on December 31st of 2020 that DOOM passed away on Halloween. The family chose to not reveal the info until they were ready. DOOM leaves behind a legendary legacy and music that will live on forever. RIP Daniel Dumile, you will be missed
