Let me be clear. The “censorship” that you are suddenly crying about because a violent fascist dictator finally got kicked off privately owned social media sites HAS ALWAYS BEEN HAPPENING to marginalised people. You just didn’t care about those people.

Yes I know that’s why I used scare quotes. However it IS a silencing tactic when used - as it mostly is - on marginalised people defending themselves from bigotry & hatred, bc the algorithm is flawed & mods untrained
The moderators are also usually not marginalised people themselves which means they don’t understand the subtleties of online hatred which is usually perpetrated using dogwhistles
