First of all, many NBA fans know Myles Turner as just a good shot-blocker. However, he is much more than that.
Also, Turner is only 24 years old and in his 4th season, so he has a huge amount of potential.

Myles Turner is arguably the best rim-protector in the league.
I know this is a small sample size, but so far this season Turner leads the league in blocks with 33 (4.1 BPG). The second highest is Rudy Gobert, with 20 blocks (2.5 BPG).

Myles Turner led the league in blocks during the 2018-2019 NBA season, with a total of 199 (2.7 BPG).

Outside of his outstanding defense, Turner is a really unique center. Hardly any other great defensive big men can stretch the floor like Turner can.
Last season, Turner shot 35% from three, while attempting 4.0 a game. This season (so far) he is attempting 4.5 per game.

Letâs look at this clutch shot Turner hit a few days ago on 1/4/21, coming back from a 6 point deficit with just 20 seconds to go. The Pacers ended up winning this game in OT.
In the 2018-2019 NBA season, Turner completely deserved an all-defensive team spot. Letâs look at some of his numbers compared to the numbers of the DPOY that season, Rudy Gobert:

Turner: 2.7 BPG, 0.8 SPG, 7.2 RPG (5.8 DRB), 4.4 DWS, 28.6 MPG
Gobert had better numbers, but considering that one of these players was the DPOY and the other didnât make an all-defensive team is a bit shocking.

Adding onto the prior tweet, Myles Turner doesnât have the greatest rebounding numbers for a center (theyâre still good, though). Thatâs because he shares the frontcourt with All-Star Domantas Sabonis, who averaged 9.3 RPG during that 2018-2019 NBA season.
So, why is Myles Turner not talked about more? Honestly Iâm not sure.
It could be because the Pacers donât get as much media attention as other large-market teams, which is a shame because they are one of the most talented teams in the NBA.
