This is actually one of many good things about the open internet. Nothing is stopping the President from spinning up a website. It’s a serious point. You have a right to speak in public fora. You don’t have a right to be amplified by a commercial network.
2/ This is both a very basic point about civic freedoms and what not merely 1st am law but more broadly the ethic of free speech is really about. But it also shows the damaging impact of the siloing of the open web with proprietary platforms and walled gardens.
3/ TPM and countless other sites kick started really just by word of mouth. On message board, via email. Twitter is just a private company. We shld resist its government-like pretensions to be more. This applies vastly more to Facebook. The real culture of free speech ...
4/ not 1st amendment law but the broader culture of free expression is the open web.
