App stores, webhosts, and other intermediaries confronted with such misconduct are entitled to similar discretion. Given the inherent differences in the broad Internet ecosystem, we should not be surprised to see variations in companies' responses. 2/4
Congress wisely protected actions to safeguard the trust & safety of users & the public at large w/ 47 USC 230, which encourages digital services to moderate risky or extremist content without risk that they'll be sued for their decisions regarding dangerous content/behavior. 3/4
Ultimately, being entrusted with the privileges and responsibilities of public office doesn’t mean one is guaranteed a platform, a host, a handle, or a book deal. If you cannot play by the terms you agreed to, there are competitors whose terms might be more to your liking. 4/4
