Waiting for all the dumbass tweets saying 45 getting booted off Twitter is censorship/a first amendment violation/against free speech because these clowns don’t understand social media

At its core, social media platforms are content curators. As curators and private companies, you as a user agree to TOS to be a part of the platform. If you violate TOS, you can get the boot. It’s that simple - the first amendment doesn’t even apply here.
No one has a right to any space on an internet platform. While parts of the internet - especially social media sites - seem “public”, they aren’t. They’re owned by private companies who use them to make money by selling ad space.
TOS exist essentially to shield the platforms from any fuckshit users might want to try that would put their advertiser dollars at risk.
If we’re being perfectly honestly and they were being true to their TOS, Twitter had cause to boot 45 from their platform a long time ago.
The debate about social media as platform or publisher is one that’s been ongoing in the tech community and brings up a lot of questions. For a decent primer on the topic, this is a good start: https://medium.com/swlh/platform-or-publisher-f20f72f832b6
And if you’re not a big reader, watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix. Cheesy vignette with the family aside, everything in regards to how these sites make money and how they function technically is entirely accurate.
Finally because ya girl is TIREDT of repeating herself, this comic sums it up quite simply & nicely: https://xkcd.com/1357/
