After careful consideration, I think the Trump ban, though understandable, is wrong. First, it won't make the country one bit safer. Second, such bans are selectively enforced against conservatives. And third, the bans will just drive hostile beliefs underground to become uglier.
Do we really believe, for example, that prominent leftist activists will be booted from Twitter at an equal rate? I don't. I think it best to leave Twitter as a more open community that counters Trump's stupid, mendacious speech with smart, honest speech.
Ask yourself this if you are celebrating this and support BLM: Would you trust this kind of banning if Donald Trump Jr. were the CEO of Twitter?

The ultimate result will probably be a fracturing of our social media into left and right companies. Also not healthy.
With this said, I note that this is a very complicated issue, and I am open to persuasion.
