Trump is awful. My first emotional response is to go with everything that (you think) hurts him. But I'd be a victim of my emotions. Trump isn't storming the Capitol. His most zealous supporters are. And do you think banning Trump from social media will temper that zealotry?
Remember what we are talking about here. We want to prevent Trump supporters from committing violence, right Twitter? Do we think billionaire, West Coast liberals banning Trump will send a message these people were wrong? Or needlessly reinvigorate them?
And please get this into your head. Twitter and @jack are pretending they are standing on principle with Donald Trump, but meanwhile they are capitulating with the demands of Pakistan and Saudi over 'blasphemous' tweets.
I've always agreed Trump is as bad as everyone said (minus Nazi hysteria). Regardless, I've also maintained he will leave peacefully on 20th Jan. This would have happened regardless of banning him from social media. Banning him is simply a win for his supporters
