I guess it feels good that DJT was banned from Twitter but I’m not sure it IS good in the long run.

Yes and that’s terrible.

But now he will do it as the emperor of his own digital kingdom (Parler).
At least here there was a resistance.

He and his followers experienced pushback—the only reminder that lots of people exist who don’t align w Trump and his bizarre/dangerous beliefs.
Now that cauldron will be left to simmer on its own, unchecked.
And it is the ultimate validation of the far rights persecution complex—the final confirmation that technology, media, and culture at large are against them.
Social media has been the last domain where both sides interacted.

It’s where people—though living in different realities—still mixed, debated, and argued.
This may signal the final separation of those realities where both sides withdraw into boiling tribes of ever-escalating confirmation bias.
Constant war.

Endless mistrust.

No good faith arguments.

And a world where your beliefs are never checked...

Where you never have to admit you’re wrong.
I hope I’m so so wrong but it’s seemed like an inevitability for a long time and this may be the trigger.
