Seriously encourage everyone to read Twitter’s press release. It’s comical. Tweets sent BEFORE an event that there is no definitive proof was anything more than spontaneous psychotic idiocy are being picked apart word for word searching for hidden meanings & any non-conformity.
The President is banned from Twitter for calling supporters “American Patriots” & screaming some puffery about their staying power.

Either you believe in free speech or you don’t. If you do, you should be disturbed by a massive tech company - that gets section 230 protection - having the authority to ban the current US President from its platform that operates as a massive media outlet for billions of people.
74 million ppl voted for the guy. They are not disappearing. If anything will embolden them even more, it’s this. THIS feeds right into what Trump & co. have said would happen all along. A tech giant tonight got to decide that the First Amendment doesn’t apply to the President.

And oh yeah: lots of ppl in the comments told me he still had @POTUS account. Nope! They just banned him from there too & wiped out his tweets. Someone wanna show me the glorification of violence in these? Or is it cuz it makes them look bad & they don’t agree with it? Scary.
So long as he does not literally tell anyone to commit acts of violence, btw (which he didn’t unless you’ve allowed how much you hate him to turn ‘march’ into ‘break in & coup’ in your brain), Trump is ALLOWED to “support, empower, & shield those who believe he won the election.”

Twitter is basically trying to SILENCE the belief that there was ANY election fraud whatsoever (maybe you’d seen them plaster NOT TRUE) on any tweet that merely suggests ANYTHING about possible fraud. Personally, do I believe there was enough fraud to cost Trump the election? No.
But do I believe there were ZERO instances of fraud whatsoever? ZERO votes by dead ppl? ZERO double votes? ZERO changed votes? ZERO shredded votes? Hell no. I’d think that’s even a pretty common opinion. And Twitter basically is gestapo-style saying that opinion is BANNED.
Say Trump carried on too long. Say he uses problematic rhetoric. Say he lies & distorts & cheats (welcome to politics). But using a fringe lunatic mob riot to say Trump was committing a coup, sedition, treason, when he said MARCH TO THE CAPITOL is really quite hysterically nuts.
Sorry for clogging your TLs w this. Of course whenever I tweet anything conservative I lose 100s of followers & get hate DMs out the wazoo (tolerance!). The capitol raid was abhorrent but it being used as justification to silence the US President is a drastic overreach of power.
And I promise you it’s only gonna make things worse. It’s a terribly undemocratic decision & inches us closer to a “round up everyone associated w Trump & his supporters.” That’s not unity. That’s not gonna move anything forward. That’s only gonna cause more violence & disorder.
