The industry really needs to do some soul searching about why so many reporters and editors *needed* to believe only ignorant and desperate white people could support Trump. You don’t know your country. Poor white people didn’t invent AMerican racism. The ruling class did.
While Trump, as Republicans have for decades, did get 60 percent of the white working class vote, only 30 percent of his voters were white working class.
What many in the media kept insisting was economic anxiety was, in fact, racial anxiety.
