Not on Trump, on another topic which is of great importance-
American Identity and Anglo-American Relations
Topic doesn't interest you? Read anyways, it has wide-reaching consequences and you may learn something new!
1/20
Over the past 100 years there has been a concerted effort to separate America from her history. This is not news to anyone on the right, but whereas most would assume I mean her history beginning in 1776 I do not, I mean 450 - history many even on the right have lost!
2/20
There is an ongoing debate between Reps and Dems with the former saying America began in 1776 and the latter saying 1619. This is a false dichotomy! The proper origins of America reach way further back!
3/20
America was *founded* in 1776, but nations do not spontaneously generate as hacks like @charliekirk11 would have you believe. This country was founded by British, primarily English, men who were the products of the traditions and customs of a nation over 1,000 years old!
4/20
The Kingdom of England was founded in 927, but the English nation originated between 450-700 after they came to Britain in search of a better life. A pioneering spirit, which would lead their descendants around the world, and one that would lead us west.
5/20
In addition to our pioneering spirit we also inherited a certain degree of stoicism from the English, adjusted in an American fashion, from which our "fight till you drop" attitude originates. Theodore Roosevelt was perhaps the greatest embodiment of this.
6/20
While I could ramble about English history for hours - this is our origin story. Not 1776, not 1619, 450AD. Our founders and we, their descendants, did not become men from clay overnight, we descend from the pioneering English nation: from their blood, customs, and traditions.

While almost all Americans on both sides have discarded our pre-1776 history, most Americans before the 1920s held it as a great source of pride! Benjamin Franklin was very, perhaps too, proud to be English. The other Founding Fathers likewise felt pride in their race.
8/20
This pride in our English heritage was not just a token of remembrance either, it was integral to our identity. In 1898 during the Wilmington Insurrection, our English heritage was called on by many of the leaders of the revolt:
9/20
It should also be mentioned that "Englishness" was so integral to "Americanism" that even long after the Irish, Germans, et. al began coming over and demographics changed drastically English-Americans still retained a monopoly on power all the way up till the 50s.
10/20
You can read more about the Anglo-American power structure in the book attached, too big of a topic to cover on Twitter but a must-know.
11/20
So, with such a rich history and with our English heritage being so integral to our identity, what changed? Why did we as a country throw out our roots and stop counting everything before 1776? I must say I do not know for sure, but I have some theories:
12/20
Immigration. The Irish began coming over in large numbers in the early 1800s, the Germans in the late 1800s. While this didn't totally dilute English blood, but rather combined with it as @SurviveTheJive has pointed out, it did oversee a cultural shift.
13/20
A "German-American" may identify as "German" but by blood he very well may be 30-50% English due to immigrants intermarrying with pre-existing communities. Thus, most ethnic identities in America are more cultural than natal, but nevertheless English identity was passed over.

Speaking in more general terms, the more people from foreign cultures you let in the harder it will be to preserve your heritage. We are so multicultural today that honoring a singular heritage is untenable so we've had to create an artificial origin story all can rally under.
/
This is very dangerous, uprooting oneself, and I would say it's the reason why America is undergoing an identity crisis whether most want to admit it or not. A nation without a past is a nation without a future and we have thrown out our past to "save" the present.
16/20
American nationalists take note - the cult of 1776 will yield no fruit. For as long as we cut history off at the Revolution we will continue adrift in a sea of hopelessness. Our fathers did not disregard our full heritage, neither should you.
17/20
As necessarily follows from the embracement of our full heritage, we must seek closer ties with the Anglosphere. We have morphed through the years, but at our root we are still of the same nation as our cousins across the seas in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.
18/20
Abraham Lincoln once said "A house divided against itself cannot stand." He said this in regards to our country, but adapted to the modern age it makes no sense for us to do anything but work with our brothers across the seas, drawing ever-closer with them.
19/20
In a world of uncertainty in which we do not wield the power we once did, we must embrace our roots. We must heal ourselves at home and turn abroad to join hands with our brothers across the seas. We must face the future as one united nation, for if we don't we shall all perish.
