Working in Hartlepool Urgent Care tonight. A patient came in asking for medication. I found out that he’s been street homeless since 22nd Dec, sleeping only in people’s sheds. He was cold, miserable and carried no possessions. He’s my age, but looks 20 years older. (Thread 1/3)
He had been told today (he said) that the council could find him some accommodation on Tuesday.

Fortunately I had the number of Hartlepool Labour MP @MikeHillMP who I called.

Ten minutes later Mike arrived at Hartlepool Hospital with hero Jaime Horton (Thread 2/3)
Jaime volunteers to work with veterans and homeless people. She has found him a hotel for the next five nights to buy time for the council to put in place a longer term solution, and she’ll ask volunteers to get him a food parcel and some clothes. (3/3)
