Still on the study on the book of Hebrews
And I realized that Sin against God is not forgiven by asking God for Forgiveness
So people who ask For Forgiveness are they doing the right thing?
I will show you something

In the Old testament we see that The high priest will offer the blood of bulls and Goat for the sins of the people
So the High priest will enter into the Holy of Holies once every year to offer blood for his own sins and for the sins of the people
So the High priest will enter into the Holy of Holies once every year to offer blood for his own sins and for the sins of the people
By this action the people's sin were covered for that year. So it has to be a repeated action year after year.
Though the blood of bulls and Goat covered their sins for that year
But it wasn't possible for that blood to TAKE AWAY sins
That's why it was done every year
Though the blood of bulls and Goat covered their sins for that year
But it wasn't possible for that blood to TAKE AWAY sins
That's why it was done every year
If the Blood of bulls and goat could take away sins once and for all there won't be need for repeating such sacrifice.
So the blood of bulls and goats cleansed the people from ceremonial impurity
So the blood of bulls and goats cleansed the people from ceremonial impurity
Remember the old testament/Law was a shadow of things to come.
So when the blood of bulls and goats couldn't take away the sins of the people
Jesus had to show Up!!! Because he was the perfect sacrifice for the sin problem
So when the blood of bulls and goats couldn't take away the sins of the people
Jesus had to show Up!!! Because he was the perfect sacrifice for the sin problem
Just like in the Old testament the sacrifices was done every year because it wasn't good enough to take away the sins of the people, so it just covered it
But When Christ who was the perfect sacrifice came he offered Himself once!!!
That once was eternal!!!
But When Christ who was the perfect sacrifice came he offered Himself once!!!
That once was eternal!!!
So your asking God for forgiveness isn't what makes Him forgive. Because from what Christ did you were eternally forgiven
He secured our redemption forever
He Made you Holy forever
He made you perfect before His eyes
He secured our redemption forever
He Made you Holy forever
He made you perfect before His eyes
God doesn't wait for you to ask forgiveness before He forgives you
He already forgave you in Christ Jesus. Your Past, Present and future sin
If you think the Only time you are forgiven is when you ask then it's as though Christ will have to die every time you ask
He already forgave you in Christ Jesus. Your Past, Present and future sin
If you think the Only time you are forgiven is when you ask then it's as though Christ will have to die every time you ask
Christ's sacrifice was once and final. So also is your forgiveness.
Through His blood we were cleansed from evil and sinful conscience
Through His blood we were cleansed from evil and sinful conscience
So you see see, it's not in asking for forgiveness that you got forgiven.
God doesn't want you to keep asking for forgiveness here and there
God wants you to repent!!!!
What's the point asking for forgiveness if you'd continue doing those wrong things?

Now you may ask what about 1john 1:7-10
That verse first didn't say ask for forgiveness it talks about confession.
And here is the place of confession of Sin, it cleanses the conscience and removes every obstacle from communion with Christ
And this is for your conscience sake
That verse first didn't say ask for forgiveness it talks about confession.

The latter verse says "and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all unrighteousness"
This cleansing is automatic.
Another time I will share on how Confess, Sin, Forgive aren't the actually meaning you may be thinking in it's context

You may say "But Jesus told us to ask for forgiveness in the Lord's prayer"
First the Lord's prayer is a pattern not something you say word for Word
Secondly Jesus hasn't offered Himself for the Sins of everyone as at that time.
So the teaching wasn't for you directly

Having this knowledge and Knowing this truth does that mean we can go on sinning up and down?
Paul said "Shall we continue in sin that Grace may abound? Godforbid"
You deliberately going on to sin because of Grace is you showing contempt for Grace
Paul said "Shall we continue in sin that Grace may abound? Godforbid"
You deliberately going on to sin because of Grace is you showing contempt for Grace
And also looking down on the Grace of God. In your mind you don't value the Grace of God and you see it as uncommon
For such people Hebrews 10 from verse 20 down should answer them.
Grace will and should empower you to live righteously and not in sin
