looks my younger followers dead in the eyes. listen to me. you WILL block anyone who is making you uncomfortable, especially adults. you will NOT feel responsible for the mental health of strangers online. you will NOT get into fights with people who hate you and your identity.
it’s not your job to fight with people who hate your marginalized identity or god forbid pedophiles and “pro-shippers”. what you’re fighting for is right but engaging with people like that is going to fuck you up in your developmental stages.
take care of yourself and block liberally. if you’re worried that cutting off someone who’s making you uncomfortable might lead to them hurting themself that’s all the more reason to distance yourself asap. you are being guilt tripped and manipulated and you are in danger.
your happiness and safety is more important than making sure you don’t hurt anyone’s feelings.
and one more thing. try to avoid making your entire brand being unhappy. there’s such a prominent anti-recovery mentality online and while, no, your mental illness does not make you bad or evil or a freak, recovery or management of that illness should be the goal.
last thing i wanna sign off this thread with is try to develop hobbies. learn to bake or draw or write or knit. it sounds stupid but having something besides the internet to fill your days with genuinely has such a positive effect
