Seeing a lot of empty hypocrisy takes along the lines of, "I guess libs only like protests when they're for causes they agree with" and, um, yes.
It's actually fine to have different standards of decorum for protests against fascism and protests defending it. No one has procedural or tactical beliefs that are entirely independent of their goals and it's absurd to pretend otherwise.
I didn't see any pundits fretting about vandalism or violence at the Belarusian protests last year. That's because it's a movement against authoritarianism and they would like it to succeed. Who cares if some windows got broken?
Proud Boys breaking windows, on the other hand, is an act in favor of authoritarianism. It's meant to destabilize the country and terrorize minority groups. It's different and worse and it's fine to be more worried about it than the looting this summer.
There's a weird thing in public discourse where you have to pretend you have procedural beliefs that supercede outcome beliefs.

"I don't care what your politics are, people shouldn't vandalize buildings" or whatever.
It's a complete fiction. Human beings have different procedural beliefs depending on what they're in service of — AND THAT'S FINE. You can go ahead and be against fascist protests because they're fascist it's fine.
