I was wrong. After watching the City game on replay I'm convinced McTominay was our best player out there and is defo better than prime Zidane. He's better than Scholes and Fletcher combined.

Scholes-esque pass inside his own half

Here is the one time McTominay makes an offensive pass and it's a side pass. I can see traces of Xavi

Here Fred has got Sterling covered but Sterling passes to De Bruyne, McSauce jogs behind De Bruyne instead of trying to block the shot (not the first time he's not blocked a shot)
Almost a goal to City.
See how he contributes to goals?

Insane side pass

That 4 yard pass

Good pass? Looks can be deceiving. McTominay suddenly thinks he's prime Scholes and tries a poorly executed long pass, which just has the effect of pushing Rashford wide right when Rashy was through on goal.
They don't call him "McTrainingCone" for no reason

Martial is literally 10 yards ahead of him.
McTominay's brain: "MUST SIDE PASS! MUST SIDE PASS!"
McTominay's brain: "MUST SIDE PASS! MUST SIDE PASS!"
That back pass to Lindelöf

McTominay ball

Cheeky little tease there that, it seems as if he's gonna pass forward, but then he remembers: "wait, @rickthereduk's 97% passing accuracy stat is on the line, I'd better pass back to Lindelöf"
What "11 of McTominay's passes penetrated in to opponents half" really look like
"penetrating into the opposition's half" again
TELL TONI KROOS TO COME OUT

MCSAUCE

Another mind-blowing side pass to add to that 97% pass completion stat

The best one out of the lot from McSauce

P.S. Can you remember who gave away the free kick that led to the Stones goal? Yep...you guessed it... McZidane.......
